Fancy a juicy and light summer lunch with an oriental touch? Try our refreshing hot dog salad recipe and indulge in some culinary delights that are a little different.

For lunch or as a suggestion for a unique picnic salad: why not prepare the excellent AVE Grill XXL hot dogs and serve them a little differently? Toss them into a seasonal salad and create a slightly different blend of flavors.

Tabule is an original Arabic dish prepared with bulgur. In our version, we added an important Slovenian element to the salad – we replaced the bulgur with buckwheat porridge, thus adding a touch of homeliness to the whole dish.

Ingredients :

1 lemon
100g Panvita buckwheat porridge
2 large tomatoes
1 small onion
1 large cucumber
a bunch of parsley or coriander
salt and pepper
olive oil

Cook the buckwheat porridge in triple the amount of salted water (about five minutes), set aside and let cool and absorb the water. Cut the tomatoes and peppers into small cubes and the onion into very thin slices. Mix everything into a porridge and add minced parsley, lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper.

Roast the hot dogs on the grill, let them cool slightly, and cut them into rounds about an inch thick. Place the hot dog slices on the salad and serve.

Grilled Hot Dogs with Caramelized New Potatoes and Salad

Ingredients :

1 kg new potatoes
spoonful of lemon juice
a bunch of fresh parsley
spoonful of sweet red pepper
3-4 tablespoons of brown sugar
salt and pepper
fresh salad


Cook the unpeeled potatoes in boiling water for about 10 minutes, being careful not to overcook them so they don’t fall apart during cooking. Drain and peel the potatoes. In a large skillet, heat the butter and sugar and stir to melt the sugar. Add lemon juice and stir. Put the peeled potatoes in a pan and let them brown well. A few minutes before the end, season with salt and pepper, and before removing the pan from the heat, add the coarsely chopped parsley.

Quickly fry the hot dogs on the grill plate or in a skillet. A bowl of seasonal salad goes well with hot dogs and baked potatoes.
